October 2012 Goals

1 Oct

New month.  New Goals. Here they are:

1.) I’ve been a little complacent in my eating habits for the last few months…..and I don’t really care from a physical point of view, but from a MENTAL point of view.  I can tell my stamina for work is lower because I’m eating crappy stuff.

Two years ago my “Getting A Six Pack Experiment” taught me that eating “clean” had a massive impact on my ability to do great work for long periods of time.  I want to make sure I’m cleaning up my diet (the simple act of adding smoothies and fruit helps immensely).

2.) ”Getting in writing mode” is kind of related to the above.  But this also means waking up early on a consistent basis and getting writing done in the mornings.

I’ll be taking on A LOT more writing than I usually do (with added AppSumo deals and book stuff this month)……so I’ve got to get back in this groove of “lotsa writing output.”

You know how they say, “To become world-class at something you gotta put in 10,000 hours?”

I feel like this is part of my 10,000 hours :-)

…….have you made YOUR monthly goals yet?

An inspiration for me! I too need to cut down on the kind of stuff that i stuff myself with.

      • Neville October 4, 2012 at 9:21 am #

Cool…..hope you’re taken steps to ENSURE it!

For me…..one of my things is making sure I have a smoothie SOON AS I WAKE UP in the morning.

This usually starts me off on the right track, and keeps me from craving crappy food

Solid goals. Eating clean can be especially tough.

Successfully roll out free trial for our start up service.

Speaking of that, would love your input on how YOU have gotten through to people in a very tech/change averse industry – I’m starting to think even proper Kopywriting can’t wake some of our prospects up!

      • Neville October 4, 2012 at 9:23 am #

Thanks man….I have eaten clean before, and enjoy it, so it should be a LITTLE easier for me since I’ve already been to the promise land :-)

As for getting through to people, if you comment with more info about your industry I might be able to help.

It boils down to: IF YOU CAN SOLVE THEIR PROBLEM, THEY WILL GIVE YOU MONEY.

Now they have lots of options also, so you either have to be the cheapest, most convenient, or best option for them.

        • chase October 5, 2012 at 8:43 am #

          Thanks for the reply!

Man they’re just so many options… paleo, vegetarian, intermittent fasting, some mix… some stuff I’ve never heard of, haha.

Industry is building products. Sent you an email (found it when I went back through Kopywriting Kourse, forgot how top notch KK is!) with specifics.

I think the trouble has come to us because they’re not familiar with the problem we solve (getting them online business).

I just started JUICIN’ (not steroids). And I feel like Jean-Claude Van Dam (his younger years, before the drugs, and babes…)

Actual fruit and vegetable juice (just grab a big bowl and fill it with 2 carrots, 3 celery sticks, .1/2 lemon, handful of spinach, 1 apple, 1 pair, a tiny bit of ginger, and BLAAAM! – juice it and drink it. Within 15 minutes your Brain will thank you!

They say a geniuses brain operates at 80 MHz…

But most of us eat food that produces 3-5 MHz (hamburgers)….

The juice above contains 50-65 MHz in one glass. Imagine having it 3 times a day?

It’s fun to make, takes very little time, and tastes good too.

Be careful though… you might just become a juice-monkey (like me!) :o

      • Neville October 9, 2012 at 8:39 am #

I actually tried juicing….but overall didn’t like it. Too much cleanup with the juice machine, too many fruits/veggies needed.

I like smoothies better since you keep all the stuff from the fruit in you :-)
