My goals for August 2015:
1.) I’m still in list building mode.
That’s primary focus.
2.) I want to learn to type faster.
I’m in a computer for most of the day, do a LOT of writing, and a LOT of email. The fact I can only type 60 or 70 words per minute is pretty lame considering typing is what I do alllll day long.
A 10% – 30% increase in my typing speed can have huge impacts on my productivity. So this seems like an important thing to learn.
The problem is I “Chicken Peck” with my index fingers:
That’s right. EVERY SINGLE LETTER I TYPE IS WITH MY TWO INDEX FINGERS.
I can type reasonably fast, and without looking at the keyboard, but I’ve got my two index fingers running around the keyboard all day whilst my other fingers just chill.
That’s a waste.
This month I’m taking about 10 minutes per day to train myself to type with all my fingers.

Here’s my goals for July 2015:
It’s damn-near identical to my June 2015 goals because that combo of activities worked well.
But June is done now, so it’s time for July:
The only addition is I started tracking my daily calorie intake (a tactic I did in a six pack experiment years ago I learned from Adam at MBT).
Sometime in June I started tracking my caloric intake and workout status on mirror in my living room. There’s something stupidly EASY AND HELPFUL about just writing down a health summary of my day.
Quite useful:
Anywho, time to start chipping away at July!

My goals for June 2015:
Very simple goals.
Business Goals: Grow KopywritingKourse list.
Personal Goal: Do an “Amish Hour” before bed each night where I use no screens. Either read, practice guitar/piano, or write (on pen & paper).
Last month (May 2015) was successful.
Put out several in-depth posts that will all get slowly added to over time:
I also went to Brazil from May 22nd till May 31st. Work was pre-planned so I could enjoy the trip even if I got zero work done.
So whilst absent, no one noticed too much :)

Here’s my goals for May 2015:
I’ve been doing these Copywriting Teardowns lately and want them to be a weekly feature. Email me if you want your site torn down and featured to 15,000+ people (NevMed at gmail com)
It was quite a busy month, and got all of April 2015 goals done which feels good. Including a non-official goal to stay under a certain caloric limit. My poor living room mirror was the bearer of all the tracking:
In April I spoke at a Startup Socials conference in Ft. Lauderdale in Florida:
……then decided to stay for a few more days, so stayed at The W Hotel in South Beach miami which was AWESOME:
The next big thing was completing my April Coding Challenge where I wanted to finish an online Ruby On Rails course so I allowed people to join me. I also kept a Slack Chat Group going and a spreadsheet documenting progress like this:
Ended up creating a Heroku app that went live on the web called Nevtrest (a ghetto version of Pintrest we built in the class):
I would say I couldn’t possibly build my own web apps fluently after this class, but I DID learn several things like Git Hub and Heroku which is useful for being about to speak with programmers about.
Overall a good and productive April 2015.
Hope to keep up the progress in May 2015!

My goals for April 2015:
1.) 29 of us are learning Ruby On Rails through my little Coding Challenge from April 1st till April 30th.
2.) The KopywritingKourse will be getting more comprehensive this month (and this year), and will double in price soon. I’m making and adding new content this month. Aiming to finish by April 21st. Existing members will of course get this free.
3.) Going through my sites page-by-page and optimizing email signups.

Here’s my goals for March 2015:
GOAL 1.) I want to successfully finish off my Autoresponder Klass with a high completion rate.
GOAL 2.) I’m about 10 years behind on web design. Meaning 10 years ago I was a pro at putting up a website, handling servers and all that crap. NOW I’m super reliant on systems like WordPress or Shopify that do that stuff, but with limited customization.
So I wanna bring myself back up-to-date with the technology. For this reason I wanna get back on the horse and start coding again….the first time since maybe my freshman year of college (2001)!!
Now I don’t plan on coding up anything fantastic myself, as there are programmers FAAARRR more capable than myself, however I would like to just get caught up with the newer technologies so I can at least half-intelligently discuss it.
GOAL 3.) Starting to add some components to the Kopywriting Kourse on the next stage to making it more valuable for people starting to learn Kopywriting.

The start of 2015, means the end of 2014! Let’s look at the trajectory for 2015 by re-capping 2014:
Since I suck at remembering stuff, I have to write it down to remember. Here is a broad re-cap of my 2014:
January 2014:
—Started doing one-off consults. Goal was 100 by end of year (hit).
–Went to San Francisco to speak at HustleCon
February 2014:
—Took a Workcation to Thailand. Visited Bangkok and the islands. Got lots of work done and good ideas.
March 2014:
—Made several hundred more NevBox’s for sale and for gifts.
—Partied it up during SXSW 2014. People were fascinated by the 3D printer. My apartment complex politely requested, “I take down the 3D printed penis in the window.” I bet that was the first time an apartment manager has EVER made that request in history!
—I challenged Noah to a handstand duel. I won….big time.
—Figured out that 2,746,149 cumulative hours have been spent on NevBlog!
–Launched The Kopywriting Checklist
April 2014:
–Had a Rock Climbing and Co-Working Party
–Did a podcast with Steve.
–Hired a business manager.
–Launched “The Autoresponder Klass”. Goal was 7x higher than I anticipated.
May 2014:
–Did another Workcation with the AppSumo Team in Napa Valley
June 2014:
–Designed and 3D printed a part for my scooter.
–Through a WordPress Framework created The KopywritingKourse Blog to make posts about kopywriting.
–Bought a piano and started learning. Picked up it up quickly since I already play guitar.
July 2014:
Started posting bidnaz stuff on KopywritingKourse Blog, and personal stuff on NevBlog.
Definitely started to notice I hate forgetting about events because I don’t document them.
August 2014:
–Did a video about Clickbait headlines. A week later Facebook announced it would remove them. It wasn’t because of me, but I’ll pretend it was ;)
September 2014:
–Went to New York
–Went to Stamford, CT. for a copywriting conference called Titans of Direct Response.
–Went to New Orleans for FinCon 2014.
–Hired a new assistant.
–Went to Burning Man 2014. Def worth checking out once.
October 2014:
–Re-did all KopywritingKourse videos.
–Finished 100 consults.
–Started taking on a few private kopy clients.
–Implemented this pricing technique with a few clients with a lot of success.
–Did a series where I asked people how they would make $X per month. Comments were fascinating to browse through:
November 2014:
–Started migrating all Kopywriting systems to InfusionSoft
–Made a new sales page and vid for KopywritingKourse
–Gave away the Craigslist Hiring Course for free. A fantastic course but I no longer promote it.
December 2014:
–Went skiing in Vail
–Showed how to self publish a book.
–Taking off for New Year’s in Los Angeles.
–Traveling to India and Japan.
My 2014 in a nutshell!
The cool part is, when I personally see these items, the memories come flooding back….so I get more out of this list than you do :-P
by Neville
Here’s my December 2014 Goals:
Due to the holidays (and fun!) I’ll be traveling a whole helluva lot this month basically till February 2014.
Vail –> Austin –> Houston–> Los Angeles –> India –> Japan
(Btw….anyone gonna be hanging around Tokyo or Osaka from Jan. 14th till Jan 21st 2015? Come meet up with me and my brother)!
Thanks to this new thing called “The Internet” I’ll be connected most of the time and be able to work from wherever. I’m also doubling down on stuff now so I don’t have to seriously work whilst hanging with the family.
by Neville
Ahhhhh I can smell the goals in the air.
This month is mainly a bunch of technical stuff such as porting over a lot of my biz stuff to InfusionSoft.
There is definitely a learning curve to any new system, but much of the work has been completed. It’s also super exciting because the amount of extra stuff I can do with a more powerful CRM system like this opens up new doors :-)
